Day #202 by Kevin Jay Stanton
The 202nd day of this year will be my birthday, July 21st (and my dad’s birthday too). And I chose to go with an old phone style for the lettering because 202 is also the first area code I remember having, from when I lived in DC.

I finished this a long, long time ago and submitted it. I chose the day of my birthday (the 202th day of this year). I’d probably redo it in a heartbeat but it’s cool to see after so long either way!

So I recently got in touch with Foxing Quarterly (this amazing print-only literary and arts journal, in case you don’t know). They’ve been doing some amazing projects with people like Jensine Eckwall, Eleanor Davis, Sam Alden, Phillipa Rice, and so many others (that’s just scratching the surface of the talent involved)!
Danithan asked me if I wanted to contribute a poster for their Quarterly Bake Sale, and this is what I came up with. It was a fun, quick poster and nice to try some hand-cut lettering again!
If you’re in Texas tomorrow, you should check the details here! There will be live music, readings, and baked goods! And also if you go, take pictures of my posters and send them to me!

I’ve done a lot of trees in my short career. Something I love!
